Our Story

The concept behind Aunty’s Ramen was inspired by the trendy self-serve yogurt shops popping up all over the place. Susend Chang Tran — better known to her patrons as Aunty — and her husband Vang Tran opened the doors to Honolulu’s popular build-your-own local style Japanese ramen, Yakitori, and Mongolian BBQ restaurant.  Customize your bowl with the freshest ingredients to your own liking and leave the cooking to Chef Chih Chieh Chang, Aunty’s older brother. Their restaurant industry roots were established more than 30 years ago in Taiwan in their parents’ restaurant. The mix of savory flavors and endless options will leave you satisfied and wanting more, but save space for their ultimate shaved ice dessert to balance out your meal — a mix of finely shaved ice, sweet condensed milk, and your choice of fun toppings. You’ll feel right at home the moment you’re greeted by Aunty and her family members as they strive to make sure every customer leaves satisfied.

Fill your basket with ingredients like — fresh veggies, tofu, house-made won ton, gyoza, and other tasty fixings.

2) Pick Your Noodles

Choose from our selection of noodles and other starches — ramen, saimin (instant), udon, long rice, bean threads, rice noodles, saimin, steamed white rice, banh pho, crispy noodles & (jjangjangmyeon +$1)(add an egg +$1).

3) Pick Your Choice Of Broth
